A 19-year-old man was killed in a car crash in the Larnaca village of Pervolia on Thursday night.
The man, named as Michalis Theodorou, was driving through the village with two 18-year-old female companions.
According to police, the car first mounted a pavement before colliding with some bushes and then the wall of an adjacent building, before overturning.
The passenger who was sitting in the car’s back seat was thrown from the car during the collisions, while the fire brigade were required to extricate the driver.
All three people involved were taken to the Larnaca general hospital.
The driver succumbed to his injuries a short while after his arrival, while the back seat passenger was admitted to surgery. The other passenger reportedly sustained minor injuries.
Police are investigating the circumstances regarding the incident.
