A 31-year-old man has died after being run over in Aradippou on Wednesday evening.
According to police, the man, named as Polish national Blazej Jerzy Rejnowski, was hit by a car being driven by a 44-year-old man at around 6.45pm on Wednesday.
Rejnowski was taken by ambulance to the Larnaca general hospital but succumbed to his wounds a short while after arriving at the hospital.
The driver of the car underwent alcohol and drug tests, with his alcohol reading coming back as zero but his preliminary drug test result coming back positive.
As such, he was arrested. The police’s investigation into the matter is ongoing.
