The Larnaca District Court ordered the six-day remand of a 28-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman from Larnaca, in connection with cases of importing and supply of 11.5 kilos of cannabis and forgery, a police report said on Saturday.
According to the report, at around 2:30pm Friday, drug-squad members stopped the two unemployed individuals near the old Larnaca airport, after they had picked up a parcel from a courier delivery service.
The box was opened in the presence of the two, and 11.5 kilos of cannabis were found.
Following investigation, the drug-squad men found that the 28-year-old had identified himself as a different person during receipt of the package, and signed a different name.
The two were arrested on the spot, and additional investigation at their apartment found a grinder with traces of cannabis.
