TUS Airways is up and running again and has resumed its flights, it was announced on Friday.
The Larnaca based airline saw its air operator certificate suspended in February, after a number of staff left the company, leaving a gap in the continuation of the company’s operation, the civil aviation had said.
The company resumed its flight schedule as it “officially commenced operations last weekend by launching its first direct route from Larnaca to Tel Aviv airport,” an announcement said, and that it will operate nine scheduled weekly flights from Cyprus to Israel.
“The company is offering a new airline model in the region based on flexible flight schedules and convenient flights,” the announcement said.
TUS, an acronym for “Τhe Ultimate Schedule”, was granted an air operator certificate on October 15, 2015 and a commercial aviation license in December 2015.
“Τhe Ultimate Schedule” is the company’s philosophy, which aims to connect Cyprus with neighbouring countries via frequent flights on a daily basis, offering comfort and convenience, all at a competitive pricing range,” it said.
The airline will also operate flights to Athens, Amman, Cairo and Beirut and secondary airports including Haifa, Eilat, Alexandria, Sharm El-Sheikh and Luxor, as well as the Greek islands of Crete, Rhodes and Karpathos
Its fleet includes small and medium-sized Saab2000 aircraft, “the world’s fastest jet and turboprop aircraft”, the announcement said, and Saab340B, with 50 seats and 34 seats, respectively.
“The airline’s aircraft are designed to land also at secondary airports, which fulfills the company’s vision of high frequency schedule throughout the day. The company goal is to schedule two to three daily flights on average to each destination,” it said.
TUS will maintain its current summer schedule, seven weekly flights from Larnaca to Tel Aviv and two weekly flights from Larnaca to Haifa. Prices from Larnaca to Tel Aviv start from €89 and from Larnaca to Haifa from €79 one way, including taxes.
Reservations may be booked directly on the company’s website, or through travel agents.
