With temperatures almost reaching boiling point, there are few better places to be on the island than Larnaca’s Makenzy strip, and while you are spoiled for choice these days as to which spot to choose, one remains a flawless option.
When talking about what a bar/restaurant has to offer, it has become somewhat a cliché to suggest it has ‘something for everyone’ but in the case of Lush Beach Bar Resto, the description is the only one that seems fitting.
There is a distinct ambience in Lush which you feel upon entering the vast indoor area, with very open colours along the surrounding walls, several rows of white dining tables and classic wooden chairs with soft elegant music playing in the background. A similar formation is replicated outside consisting primarily of large, comfortable couches as well as the traditional set of stools surrounding the outside bar.
For those early risers, it is an ideal location to sit back and enjoy a morning beverage, with a front row view of the beach, with a wide array of coffees and teas to choose from.
When it comes to food, the restaurant offers an amazing variety of both traditional dishes as well as increasingly popular foreign dishes, in particular its very own sushi section. It attracts a lot of nearby workers at lunchtime while in the evenings the crowd consists mainly of young families and couples.
Lush also plays host to several live music events of some big stars from Greece and Cyprus that tend to attract huge crowds from across the island. The best place to keep up to date on upcoming gigs is their social media channels.
The daytime is the ideal point of the day to visit for a quiet drink or a spot of lunch. However, if you prefer being in a busy location, then the evenings, especially on weekends, is where Lush really goes up a gear. Yet, unlike certain other bars on the strip, it is not exactly a dance club.
The selection of cocktails is phenomenal, with a wide offering of original cocktails freshly made with care and will leave you wanting to try the whole list.
