Three people were arrested in Paphos on Monday evening in connection with drugs possession, illegal use, and cultivation of cannabis plants.
Acting on a tip off, members of the drug squad searched an abandoned barn near the village of Miliou and found seven cannabis plants measuring between 15 to 60 centimetres.
Officers remained in the area and in the evening they caught a man who arrived in a car with another man and a woman, and was about to water the plants with a plastic water bottle.
Police arrested the man, a 27-year-old resident of Paphos. The car was driven by a 24-year-old man who was also arrested, as was the 17-year-old woman.
The plants were taken for further tests.
In a separate case in Larnaca, police arrested two men on Monday after cannabis was found in their possession.
Police were searching a barber shop between 5pm and 6pm and found a 25-year-old customer in possession of tobacco and cannabis.
The 32-year-old owner of the shop handed police a plastic bag with three-and-a-half grammes of cannabis and a grinder containing traces of the drug. Both were arrested pending further investigations.
