Boy, 3, in hospital after pool incident

A three-year-old child was found floating at a hotel swimming pool on Wednesday afternoon after he escaped his parent’s attention.

An employee at the hotel, which is situated on the road from Larnaca to Dhekelia, saw the child and quickly pulled him out. The boy was given first aid and taken to Larnaca General hospital. However due to the severity of his condition was transferred to the intensive care unit at the Makarios Children’s Hospital in Nicosia.

The boy is in serious condition but out of danger, the Cyprus News Agency reported.

Before the incident, the boy had been with his parents, who are tourists from Egypt at the pool, but slipped away unnoticed.
