Three men were remanded for eight days on Sunday for further questioning in connection to arson attacks in Larnaca.
Aged 25, 33 and 39, they were arrested after the car of the oldest man, who lives in Nicosia, was spotted leaving the Kamares area of Larnaca shortly after a fire broke out in two vehicles parked outside a flat at about 2am.
The cars belonged to a man aged 31 who lives in Larnaca.
Police found the fire had been set maliciously and eyewitnesses said a car was seen speeding away from the scene. Once a connection was made between the car and the 39-year-old suspect, his Nicosia house was placed under surveillance.
At about 3am, they saw the car park outside his home. He and the other two suspects got out of the car and got into a second vehicle parked nearby and left the area.
Police followed them and stopped them, arresting them on the spot.
