Police investigate assault at Larnaca apartment

Larnaca police are investigating an assault on a 44-year-old man on Thursday after he went to put out his trash for collection.

According to police, at around 4.30pm on Thursday, the man went downstairs in his apartment building to put out the trash and on his way back he was confronted by two men on the stairs who hit him with an object causing him to fall. They continued beating him and fled minutes later.

After he called for help, the man was taken to Larnaca general hospital and admitted for fractures to various parts of his body, and head and face injuries.

Police said an investigation at the scene revealed that the man’s apartment had been robbed, most likely by the men who beat him.
