
A 30-year-old Romanian man was found lying on a Larnaca street with a single stab wound to the chest in the early hours of Sunday, police said.
The wound had been made with a small sharp object. The man’s life is not in danger. However he told police he did not remember much about the attack other than the fact that a person he said was unknown to him walked up to him at stabbed him while he was on his way home.
Police received a call around 2.40am that an injured man had been found lying in the road by passerby. An ambulance called to the scene took the Romanian man to the hospital where he was treated for the wound to his left hemithorax and kept in for observation.
From blood tests it was established that the Romanian man was intoxicated and was unable to give police a description of his attacker.
CID Larnaca are investigating.
