A man from Larnaca, aged 46 was sentenced to 18 months in prison on Thursday after he was found guilty of possessing 618 grammes of cannabis.
Paraskevas Papapantelis, admitted to the court that he was in possession of the drugs from an unknown date until October 31, 2014.
On December 31 the same year, another man, Antonakis Flourou, was arrested en route from Larnaca Kalo Chorio village to Limassol where he had the cannabis in his car.
The court sentenced him to two and a half years in February 2015 and a few months later in August, Papantelis was arrested after his DNA was found on the drug packages indicating that they had been in his possession previously.
Initially he did not admit that he had prior possession of the drugs.
The court on Thursday said they took into consideration his clean record, the fact he has three children aged 18, 17 and 14, and his sincere remorse.
