A vehicle was completely destroyed by arson in Larnaca overnight and authorities are investigating the case.
Investigations had confirmed that the fire had been set maliciously, Larnaca police spokesperson Christodoulos Konsolos said.
According to the Larnaca police the car belonging to a 26-year-old permanent resident of the district caught on fire shortly after 2am. The vehicle had been parked in the lot of an apartment building where the 26-year-old lives.
The fire was extinguished by members of the fire department but the vehicle had been completely destroyed, while damage was also caused to the rear of an adjacent parked vehicle belonging to another owner. No one was injured by the fire.
Investigations are being carried out by the Larnaca CID.
