Two teenagers aged 17 and 18 and a 43-year-old man, all from Larnaca, were arrested on late Saturday for allegedly stealing petrol worth €100 from garbage trucks owned by a 25-year-old man.
According to reports, the three suspects were arrested after a tip off when police located them in the fenced plot where the trucks were parked in Kornos at around 9pm. In their car police found four plastic 20-litre canisters with petrol and a manual petrol pump.
The three suspects were taken to the Kofinou police station, where they admitted to the theft. They were charged in writing and are to present before court at a later date.
